New Zealand: Drama, 104 minutes

A young man is on parole after serving time for attempting to murder the man who killed his girlfriend in a hit and run. A woman is released from a psychiatric facility far from her homeland. When these strays find each other in the remote, wintry high country of southern New Zealand they fall into a complex intimate relationship testing their capacity to trust and heal.

Stray is a poetic and transcendent debut feature. Powerfully realised and beautifully depicting the loneliness and connection of two souls adrift amidst Nature’s staggering yet indifferent beauty.
